Why nail techs choose KUPA drills
KUPA MANIPro drills are made for daily salon work. The motor is strong and won't slow down when you press harder. They stay quiet, stay cool, and feel good in your hand. Use them on acrylic, gel, and natural nails.
Pick your MANIPro
- MANIPro Passport NEXT — the newest cordless drill. Runs 8–10 hours per charge. Has a screen, a start/stop button, the new KP-65 handpiece, and a 2-year warranty. Best if you want to move around.
- MANIPro Passport — the classic cordless drill. Light, quiet, and easy to use. Speed goes from 4,000 to 30,000 RPM.
- MANIPro KP-5000 — a plug-in drill that stays on your table. Has a control box and a slide speed control. You can add a foot pedal. Best for a set station.
How the drills work
Every MANIPro goes up to 30,000 RPM. Slow it down to 4,000–10,000 RPM for cuticle work, then speed it up for acrylic. It also runs forward and reverse, so it works for left- and right-handed techs. The KP-60 and KP-65 handpieces are made in Japan.

Common questions
Is the KUPA MANIPro worth it? Most nail techs say yes. It's known for strong power, low noise, and long battery life, and many pros use the same drill for years. It costs more than a cheap drill, but it's built for daily salon work.
Which handpiece should I get — KP-55, KP-60, or KP-65? All three run at 30,000 RPM with almost no vibration, so they work the same. The difference is size and weight. The KP-60 is the lightest and shortest (about 4.2 oz) and is the most popular pick. The KP-55 is a bit longer and heavier (about 5.6 oz) with a rubber grip. The KP-65 is the newest and comes with the Passport NEXT. If you're not sure, go with the KP-60.
What's the difference between the Passport, Passport NEXT, and KP-5000? The Passport and Passport NEXT are cordless. The NEXT is the newest — it adds a screen, a start/stop button, the KP-65 handpiece, and a 2-year warranty. The KP-5000 plugs in and stays on your table, with a slide speed control and an optional foot pedal. Pick a Passport to move around, or the KP-5000 for a set station.
How long does the battery last? The cordless Passport and Passport NEXT run 8–10 hours per charge — about a full day of clients for most techs.
Where are KUPA drills made? The KP-60 and KP-65 handpieces are made in Japan for KUPA. KUPA is a US-based brand.
Is the KUPA MANIPro good for beginners? Yes. The speed dial lets you start slow and speed up as you learn, and it stays steady and easy to control. It also has the power to take off acrylic when you need it.
