Why busy nail techs pick the Passport NEXT
The KUPA MANIPro Passport NEXT is KUPA's newest cordless nail drill, also known as an e-file. It is built for nail techs who are busy all day, and it comes with the KP-65 handpiece and a redesigned control box. Because there is no cord, you can move it easily from your manicure table to your pedicure chair, without looking for a power outlet.
What is new: the pause button and the RPM screen
The two upgrades techs talk about most are the pause button and the digital LED screen. The pause button lets you stop quickly to change a bit and pick up right where you left off, without turning the drill all the way off. The LED screen shows your exact speed (RPM) and battery level, so you can set the same number for each step of a service instead of guessing with a dial. A forward and reverse switch makes the drill comfortable for both right- and left-handed techs, and you can even swap the control box covers to change the color. The drill runs quietly and smoothly with very little vibration, and the acetone-resistant finish on the control box and dock keeps it easy to clean over time.
Strong power and long battery
The KP-65 handpiece is powerful. It reaches up to 30,000 RPM with adjustable speed, so it is gentle enough for cuticle work and strong enough for acrylics. It uses standard 3/32" nail drill bits, and the locking chuck holds each bit tightly, so changes are quick and secure. One charge lasts 10 to 12 hours, and a full recharge takes only about 2 hours. The plug works with both 110V and 220V, so you can use it in other countries too. Between clients, the dock holds the drill upright and ready to use.
What is in the box
Every MANIPro Passport NEXT comes complete: the KP-65 handpiece, the control box, the charging dock, a stainless steel belt clip, a holster with a scratch-resistant insert, and the instruction manual. It is covered by KUPA's one-year warranty on parts and labor.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the MANIPro Passport NEXT and the older MANIPro Passport?
The NEXT is the newer model. It adds a digital LED screen that shows your exact speed (RPM) and battery level, plus a pause button and a forward and reverse switch. The battery also lasts longer, about 10 to 12 hours. The original KUPA MANIPro Passport does not have the LED screen or these controls.
How long does the battery last, and how long does it take to charge?
One full charge lasts about 10 to 12 hours of use. A full charge takes about 2 hours with the quick-charge dock.
Can I use it while it is charging?
Yes. You can keep working while the drill sits in its charging dock, so you do not have to stop during a busy day. Note that the dock charges the drill whenever it is docked — there is no way to use the dock as a stand without charging.
Does it come with nail bits, and will my current bits fit?
Bits are not included. The set has the handpiece, control box, charging dock, belt clip, holster, and manual. The chuck accepts standard 3/32" shank bits only — if your current bits have a 3/32" shank they will fit, but larger 1/8" shank bits will not.
How fast is it, and is it strong enough for acrylic and gel?
It reaches up to 30,000 RPM with high torque, so it is strong enough for acrylic prep and removal. You can also lower the speed for gentle work, like cuticles or buffing off gel polish.
What handpiece comes with it?
It comes with the KP-65 handpiece, which is made in Japan. The handpiece is light and runs quietly with very little vibration. If you ever need a spare, the KP-65 is also sold on its own.
Is it good for beginners?
It is a professional tool, not a basic starter, but the features that help most when you are learning are here. You can set an exact low speed on the LED screen and work slowly with light pressure, which is the safest way to learn. The forward and reverse switch lets you file both sides of the nail safely, and the low vibration keeps the handpiece easy to control. Two things to keep in mind: bits are sold separately, so you will need to add beginner-friendly bits, and no drill replaces good technique — start slow and learn the basics before working on clients.
Is there anything techs wish was different?
A few small things come up from techs who use it daily. There is a brief delay when you start the drill or change speed — it is slight, but noticeable if you are used to an instant dial. The speed adjusts in steps and does not go below the lowest setting on the screen, so if you prefer ultra-slow speeds for delicate work, plan to use a light touch instead. And when you return the handpiece to the dock, lower it in gently — dropping it in carelessly can scratch the finish over time. None of these are dealbreakers, but we would rather you know before you buy.
What is the warranty?
KUPA covers the MANIPro Passport NEXT with a one-year limited warranty on parts and labor.
Can I use it in other countries?
Yes. The power supply switches automatically between 110V and 220V, so it works in most countries. You may only need a simple plug-shape adapter.
